History
Access Macquarie Limited was established in 1989. Initially named Macquarie Research Limited, the company was established as a result of Macquarie University’s growing stature as a leading research-based university.
After 20 years, the Company continues to provide project management services to assist university academics bid for and manage applied research, consulting, testing and training projects for industry, government and the corporate world.
Access MQ established MTBI - Macquarie Technology Business Incubator on site which is designed to house and support start-up companies as they are in the process of developing new technologies.Access MQ's unique relationship with the University gives its incubator tenants the opportunity to take advantage of specialised educational services such as entrepreneur, innovation and business development courses.
In 2006, Access MQ's Quality Management System was certified to ISO 9001:2000 by SAI Global, an independent certification body and has subsequently been recertified in 2007 and 2008. Access MQ is currently certified by International Certifications. The pleasing result of all audits was that all core operating and support areas of the Company were deemed to have passed the audit and are therefore certified. That is to say, that the entire Company's operations have met the international standard.
In 2008, Access MQ expanded to take responsibility for the provision of English language teaching services on behalf of the University, both pre-entry and post-entry, through ELC - Macquarie University English Language Centre. ELC is now one of Access MQ's largest business units. We also obtain accreditation as a Registered Training Organisation.
ELC is one of the largest IELTS Test Centres in Australia, and we provide IELTS Online and IELTS Intensive Preparation Programs to prepare students for the IELTS test.
Today, we are a diversified business with eight business units covering all areas of delivering the products of Macquarie University research to the market and providing access to the University's expertise.
